The School was established to provide supplementary lessons to improve the Japanese language proficiency of children who speak Japanese and who live in or near Sydney.
The school opened on March 6, 1993 with 56 students in four classes. Using the class rooms borrowed from Cammeray Public School, Japanese language classes run on Saturdays mornings.
Currently, approximately 250 students study across 17 classes.
